Testuno

Methodology

TESTUNO is a self-assessment and cognitive-benchmarking platform built on transparency. Every assessment carries a visible evidence class and a stable version, and a percentile appears only when a real norm supports it. This page documents how tests are classified, how scoring works, and where the limits are.

What TESTUNO is

TESTUNO offers cognitive benchmarks, direct performance measurements, self-assessments, personality and relationship exploration, knowledge tests, reasoning exercises, an Estimated IQ, proprietary platform scores, AI-assisted narrative reports and entertainment tests. It is an informational, educational and self-discovery service — not a medical, clinical or diagnostic one.

Evidence level

Every test is assigned an evidence class that is visible before you interpret a result. A test is only classed A when TESTUNO can identify the underlying published validation and its licence; resembling a known psychological construct is not sufficient.

  • A — Validated / published instrument: An established instrument with published evidence supporting its measurement properties and documented scoring. Validation and applicability may depend on version, language, population and intended use.
  • B — Research-grounded original: A TESTUNO-designed assessment grounded in established psychological or cognitive constructs. It has not been independently validated as a standalone instrument.
  • C — Direct benchmark: A directly observable measurement, such as reaction time in milliseconds or words per minute. Results depend on your device, input method, display and environment.
  • D — Entertainment / self-reflection: Deterministic and internally consistent, but explicitly not a scientific or clinical assessment.

Test categories

Speed and skills tests (reaction time, clicks per second, typing, aim) are direct benchmarks. Memory tests measure how much information you can hold and manipulate on the task presented. Reasoning tests assess abilities associated with fluid reasoning — solving novel, structured problems. Personality, relationship and career questionnaires are self-report scales describing patterns and preferences. Knowledge tests score factual answers against a fixed key. Entertainment tests are for fun and self-reflection.

How scoring works

Scoring is deterministic. Direct benchmarks report the measured quantity (for example a median reaction time in milliseconds). Ability and knowledge tests score responses against an answer key and convert accuracy into a scaled score and a descriptive band. Questionnaires average items within each dimension. No score is generated by AI.

Percentiles are real or absent

A percentile appears only when an eligible stored norm exists with a known sample size and a documented inclusion policy. Otherwise you see your raw score, your personal best and a descriptive band — never an invented ranking.

vs. TESTUNO sample: This percentile compares you with eligible TESTUNO observations for this test — not with the general population.

vs. external norm: This percentile is based on a documented external reference norm.

Norm status

  • Insufficient — no percentile shown — < 200
  • Provisional internal norm — 200–999
  • Established internal norm — 1 000+

These are TESTUNO operating rules for when a stored norm may be used, not universal psychometric laws. Sample size alone does not establish reliability, validity or representativeness of a population.

Human Benchmark Score

The Human Benchmark Score is a TESTUNO-specific composite designed to summarise selected results on this platform. It is not a clinically validated psychometric index, an intelligence quotient, a diagnostic score or a universally standardised measure of human ability.

BMS = 1000 × (cognitive × 0.8 + emotional_skill × 0.2)

Only anchors with a defensible score direction enter the number: measured cognitive performance (80%) and the self-reported emotional-skill index (20%). If one group is missing, its weight is redistributed across the group you have completed.

Personality and social results are shown as a trait profile only. Traits have no objectively better direction, so they are not added into the numeric score.

Counts toward the number (11)

  • •Reaction Time
  • •Processing Speed
  • •Visual Memory
  • •Working Memory
  • •Digit Span
  • •Full IQ Estimate
  • •Matrix Reasoning
  • •Logical Reasoning

Partial · Complete — A partial score is not directly comparable to a score based on the complete required profile.

Versioning

A result is meaningful only relative to its test version, item-bank version, scoring version, norm version, locale and — where relevant — device and input class. We record these and do not retroactively re-score historic results when a method changes.

Device and environment limits

Direct benchmarks run in a browser. Browser timing, display refresh rate, input device, operating system and hardware latency all affect the value you see. Treat these as consumer-grade measurements, not laboratory instrumentation.

AI narrative reports

Paid personalized reports use your deterministic TESTUNO scores as input. AI writes the interpretation around those numbers; it never calculates or adjusts them. AI text can contain errors and is informational only.

This report is based on your own TESTUNO results. Your scores are calculated by TESTUNO's scoring logic; AI assists only with the written interpretation, which may contain inaccuracies. It is informational self-discovery content — not professional advice and not a medical or psychological diagnosis — and should not be used for high-impact decisions.

Privacy

Anonymous users keep results in their own browser and never need an account. Norm contributions exclude direct identifiers such as name and email; a pseudonymous anti-duplicate mechanism may be used to protect norm quality, as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not sell raw psychometric answers. With an account, results link to you so you can build and optionally publish a profile, and you can delete your account and data at any time.

Medical and clinical limitation

This assessment is not a medical or psychological diagnosis and not a clinical screening tool. It cannot determine whether you have a medical or mental-health condition. If you are concerned about your health, please seek advice from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

A TESTUNO Estimated IQ is not equivalent to a professionally administered intelligence assessment such as the WAIS or Stanford-Binet, and cannot diagnose any condition.

Interpretation and limitations

  • Online testing has inherent limits: environment, fatigue, distraction, motivation and practice effects all move a single score.
  • A result is specific to the instrument and version you took, and to the day you took it.
  • Class B and Class D assessments are not independently validated unless a specific test explicitly states otherwise.
  • Direct benchmarks depend on your device, input method and environment.
  • Unless explicitly stated otherwise, a TESTUNO percentile describes the eligible TESTUNO norm sample — not the general population.
  • Results are informational and for self-reflection, and are not a medical or psychological diagnosis.
